ASG was recently entrusted with dismantling and shipping two Eclipse Jet aircraft to the UK, with the possibility of their return to the USA.
The project was expertly led by Engineer Adam Creed, who explained the process:
“We began by designing and building custom pallets and cradles to safely transport the fuselages, wings, and other components. This process involved close collaboration with the aircraft manufacturer to guarantee that every part would be securely held during transit.
After the pallets and cradles were completed, we drained and purged the aircraft’s fluids and removed key components, such as the engines, which were packed in purpose-built shipping crates. We then dismantled the horizontal stabilizers and wings. Once detached, the fuselages were secured into their custom cradles, while the wings and stabilizers were safely fastened in their racks. Every item was carefully strapped or bolted down to ensure safe shipping.
The packed components were loaded onto three 40-foot trailers for transport to the UK. Upon arrival, the fuselages and other parts were unloaded and either stored in containers or prepared for onward travel as required.”
