Late on Friday 26th April ASG received a call from its customer ELIX Aviation Capital Ltd who required assistance in shipping a Pratt & Whitney PW100 ATR 72 engine from Guernsey to Toulouse for an aircraft that was AOG.

Storm Hannah had caused numerous ferry cancellations preventing the immediate movement of the engine to either mainland Europe or the UK.

So, instead of sea transport, ASG with the assistance of its Pula Aviation Services Limited‘s sister company Centreline Aviation chartered a BAe 146-300QT to collect the engine from Guernsey on Friday evening, with excellent logistic support received from Guernsey Freight Services.

A true team effort ensured the engine was loaded and the freighter departed with only minutes to spare before Guernsey airport closed, enabling the engine to start its journey to Toulouse within hours of the call for assistance being received.
