The European Commission (EC) has made a decision to extend the deadline for ADS-B compliance by six months for business aviation operators. The deadline for ADS-B is now 7 December 2020 (with some exceptions to this date permitted), due to the impact of COVID-19 on aircraft operators. “The outbreak of the COVID-19 virus and the resulting impact on the aviation sector has led to unforeseeable obstacles for aircraft operators to pursue their activities to bring the aircraft in compliance with the ADS-B mandate,” said the EC.
ASG already has a number of aircraft booked in for ADS-B installations in the coming weeks but the extension will allow any aircraft delayed by the COVID-19 restrictions to remain compliant and still come to ASG and have the work done before the deadline.
