Founded in 1994 with the mission of modernising avionics by applying advanced technology in order to improve safety and increase aircraft utility.
Avidyne was the first general aviation avionics company to certify Primary Flight Display and Multifunction Flight Display systems. These Entegra products were a significant contributor to the success of Cirrus and several other aircraft manufacturers.
The subsequent Entegra Release 9 represents the next generation of integrated flight deck systems for general aviation aircraft, including high-resolution displays, dual Air Data and Attitude Heading Reference Systems (ADAHRS), dual-redundant GPS/FMS systems with a QWERTY keypad, next-generation fully-digital 16-watt VHF NAV/COM radios, and dual WAAS/RNP-capable GPS receivers. With Entegra Release 9, Avidyne developed a truly integrated system that is specifically designed to eliminate complexity, reduce head-down time, provide a whole new level of redundancy, and dramatically enhance safety for OEM and retrofit applications.
The company returned to its roots in the aftermarket in 2014 with its full line of panel-mounted avionics, including the IFD550, IFD540 and IFD440 FMS/GPS/NAV/COMs with Hybrid Touch, Page & Tab user interface, easy GeoFill™ and airway flight planning, and integrated Bluetooth® and WiFi capability. In addition, the IFD Series were designed to be direct replacements for the aging GNS530/430-series navigators, dramatically simplifying installation and overall cost when upgrading.
Complemented with a complete set of ADS-B In and Out options, as well as industry leading compatibility with other manufacturers product, Avidyne is well positioned for the ADS-B upgrade process in the US and across the world.
IFD540: The most intuitive FMS/GPS navigator for your aircraft
The IFD was designed as slide-in replacements for the GNS series but with features and capabilities of a true FMS with GPS/ NAV/COM, not just a single GPS resource. Avidyne’s IFD540 FMS/GPS/NAV/COM is a 5.7” powerful, touchscreen navigator with all the benefits and features the IFD Series has to offer. Not only does the IFD540 feature Avidyne’s signature Hybrid Touch, Page & Tab interface with 3D synthetic vision and SBAS/LPV precision, it also includes CMax™ Approach Charts and Airport Diagrams.
Utilizing Jeppesen’s Jeppview® charts subscription services, CMax provides worldwide approach charts and a database of over 6,000 airport diagrams, most of which are geo-referenced, allowing for the display of your township and flight plan position right on the chart or airport diagram. The IFD540 also supports optional European VFR (Bottlang) Charts for over 2,200 airports in 29 European countries.
SkyTrax600 Series
The SkyTrax600 Traffic Advisory Systems (TAS), which are based on the technology originally developed for air-transport category traffic alert and collision avoidance systems (TCAS), have been available for general aviation aircraft for several years, but have been cost-prohibitive for many owner-flown aircraft. Until now.
With the new dual-antenna SkyTrax600 Series, Avidyne offers three different TAS systems (SkyTrax605, SkyTrax615 and SkyTrax620 more), tailored for the type of aircraft you fly. These feature-rich, value-priced SkyTrax systems are fully TSO certified, surpassing the performance capabilities of many higher-cost traffic systems and setting a new standard for active-surveillance traffic capability and affordability.
Avidyne’s SkyTrax600 Systems detect other aircraft sooner and more accurately, so you avoid surprises due to the shadowing effects inherent with single-antenna systems. Using top and bottom directional antennas, SkyTrax600 systems actively interrogate other aircraft with or without ADS-B IN and provide hybridized audible and visual alerts with the precise location of conflicting traffic.
