ASG has been providing maintenance support to the Channel Islands Air Search for several years – and was called up on to conduct essential operational checks on the Islander aircraft. This allows the Channel Islands Search and Rescue pilots to stay current and ensure that this emergency service remains operational and ready to respond if required. Notwithstanding the current island-wide lockdown, ASG was able to send an engineer to carry out pre-flight operational checks in the CIAS hangar whilst abiding by strict Government rules on social distancing. Adam Lunn, ASG’s Service Manager, said ‘We were very pleased to be able to respond in this way and support a key emergency service at a difficult time.
